In 2016, I read 32 books. Genres included spirituality, self-help, business, sci/fi, fantasy, and more. Of course, I enjoyed some books more than others. And that’s why I narrowed it down to the top five books I read in 2016. These are the books that have inspired and helped me grow.
The books are in no particular order – they have all assisted me in their own way. Top 5 spiritual books read in 2016:
Warning: This book is mind-opening, even for open-minded people.
Using spiritual hypnotic regression, Newton was considered a pioneer in uncovering what happens after death.
Journey of Souls has given me a new perspective on life’s challenges, death, and why we are here. Newton was an atheist who one day went a little further in his hypnotherapy and discovered there was more. And so began his journey.
Newton says if you only take away one point from the book, let it be this: There is life after death. Though this book isn’t all-encompassing, it is a gateway to understanding that we are not just physical beings; we are spiritual beings.
(2) The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up has caused change in my life on all levels.
Since I was young, I’ve been a purger, but by reading this book, I had a big list of things I could get rid of even before finishing it. Items I had never thought about parting with, I was now able to.
Marie Kondo says that it’s important to surround ourselves only with the things that bring us joy. I love this! While reading this book, you will find yourself asking why you held onto certain items for so long. Will you accept the challenge?
The Life List is a novel. But don’t underestimate its power.
The Life List is about finding your true self and knowing what you want in life. So often are we thrown off track, or we find ourselves comprising ourselves to fit in where we truly aren’t happy.
It is a very inspirational read. It shows how we, as humans, are often scared of the unknown. You will see resistance to change and doubt, but then you will see the making of a strong individual who learns to speak for herself.
I loved it so much I wrote a review about it; check out the full review: Life List: A Review.
Did you know that we all have a spiritual team supporting us? This spiritual team comprises of guides and angels. If you would like to learn about that support system that is there for you, I would highly recommend this book. Ask Your Guides helps you connect with your spiritual team and teaches you how they can assist you.
Even if you are already aware of your spiritual team, this book will help deepen your understanding and perhaps even give you a new perspective or insight.
Destiny of Souls is the second book by Newton. Thousands of readers had questions and wanted more details after his first book. Newton decided to write this book to provide more details about various aspects of life on the other side. I would recommend reading Journey of Souls first, and then this one.
And there you have my five favourite books from 2016. If you’d like to see what I’m reading next, be sure to follow me on Goodreads.
